The Seward Mound Cemetery, established in 1864, is located in Minooka, IL.  The cemetery is administered by Seward Township Board.

No interment will be done on Sundays or Holidays.

Seward Mound Cemetery Guidelines

  1.  Seward Mound Cemetery shall be open from dawn until dusk.
  2. No Interment will be done on Sundays or Holidays.
  3. A grave shall be permitted to have 2 full body burials if stacked one on top of the other for an additional cost.  Maximum capacity of any one grave shall be 1 full body and 1 cremains or 3 total cremains.
  4. The planting of trees or shrubs is not permitted on lots or within Seward Mound Cemetery.
  5. The Seward Township Board reserves the right to remove or trim any tree, plan or shrub located within the cemetery.
  6. No brush, iron, cement or wooden fence shall be erected as an enclosure of any lot.
  7. Burial lots may be passed on to family members but cannot be re-sold.
  8. Previously purchased graves may be bought back by Seward Mound Cemetery for the lesser of 25% of the current sales price or the original purchase price.  If the seller is not the original owner, legal right of ownership must be provided to the Seward Township Board prior to buy back.
  9. All new cemetery memorial stones and/or markers must have a cement base of 6 inches of a solid foundation before the setting of any memorial monuments.  Such foundations must be pre-arranged before the setting of any stone.
